National Express e-tickets
Hi All,
I am intending to make a booking from Liverpool Edge Lane to Manchester next week sometime (really good fare of £4.72 return, with the 10% discount code), and also should be able to get 30p back from Quidco!
The ticket suggested is an Day Return, which the site states is as follows:
The notes for e-tickets then state:
For the owtward journey, sticking to the booked service is no problem, but for going back its a bit more fluid, and bearing in mind there are coaches between Manchester and Liverpool at least once an hour, does the e-ticket Day Return really keep you to the booked ones?
Thanks in advance all!
Cheers
Steve

The outward and return journey must commence on the same calendar day.

e-Tickets are non-transferable and are only valid on the journey for which they were booked.

i think if you turn up for a coach that you aren't booked on, they will let all the other booked passengers on first and then if there are seats left over, then they shoudlnt be a problem. you could call national express and find out to be sure.If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

If you call National Express they will tell you what the website says.
The terms for these cheap tickets are very clear: you MUST travel at the time for which you have booked. Of course, a driver may use his discretion and allow you to travel at another time, but there cannot be any guarantees.
For this reason, the last time I used National Express I avoided buying an e-ticket and bought a conventional ticket (for a similar price). Sure enough, I needed to travel at a different time on the way back, and as described above, the driver first allowed all booked passengers to board, checked that there was room and then allowed me on as well.0 -
Best stick to the booked times then - I thought it might be like that, but wanted to check!
Cheers Everyone!
