Hi guys,
Just wondered if anyone can tell me where I can hire a carpet cleaner from? People are saying homebase or focus but nothing is mentioned on thier websites.
Any help from anyone who has done this recently would be much appreciated!

Lots of dry cleaning shops hire out carpet cleaners. I know Morrison's supermarket used to hire them out too, not sure if they still do.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
This is being advertised currently on tv:
http://www.rugdoctor.co.uk/
If you put in your postcode on the main page it gives the outlets you can rent it from. Not tried one myself though.0 -

Some of these are really expensive to hire and/or very hard work to operate, I have used some professional cleaners who charged less then the cost of hiring a machine, might be worth a look in your local paper.0

When I moved into my place i got someone from the local paper. They charged £80 for 6 rooms. Pretty reasonable, no hassle, no faffing. As with anything, get 3 quotes as my quotes differed greatly. If you want to hire, HSS Hire have branches all over the country http://www.hss.com/index.php?s=carpet+cleaner0

The previous poster before me gave good advice. HSS do this good one which is on at about £30 a day. I've used it twice with excellent results. You have to put your back into it but it delivers surprising results.0 -
Rug Doctor was about £13 to hire the last time I hired one from Focus, plus about £6.99 for a big bottle of shampoo. But, thinking about all the hire costs I would ever spend, I splashed out and bought a posh Vax Rapide Deluxe (£189) as it will last many years and I can clean the carpets/upholstery whenever I feel like it, think of it as hiring the Rug Doctor 10 times over the next few years, lugging it to and fro etc....well it's going to pay for itself really!0

Rug Doctor now do a delivery/collection too and from your house. I think it starts from £40.00 for 48 hours, and includes the Carpet Shampoo. There is information about it on their web site.0

Hired one from HSS, reasonably priced, could place hire order over the interent and was able to hire one at short notice (need it for tomorrow).
Thanks again everyone!0
