can i cancel sky if i ordered it a few hours ago

hi, i'm moving into a student house and when comparing ntl vs sky, sky seemed cheaper

basically i ordered sky because they told me sky broadband AND skytalk could be done in the next week or two..if i ordered sky tv

but now, (i also had to pay to change the line to BT) i have found that sky broadband isn't avaliable until a few weeks 3-5 weeks which isn't acceptable.....

so now i want ntl again, is this possible?

I've never had sky so not sure, but presumably there is a get out clause coz there is with most other contracts you sign up to. They probably won't make it easier or straight forward for you though! My mum canceled a post office home phone line the week after she had started it and the post office did not cancel it properly so it kept on going, they were a nightmare, she is still dealing with them now over a month on!

Hopefully you will have a better experience.

I'm pretty sure there is no problem cancelling Sky tv before installation. Why not just phone and tell them you wish to cancel? If you do have a problem, you are entitled to insist, since you were sold Sky tv on the basis of a misrepresentation that Sky broadband would be available promptly. They probably have a recording of the call if there is any dispute as to what was said.

I think there's a period of around 30 days in which you can cancel, not sure tho, give em a ring.

Yeah just to let you all know, i was allowed to cancel it was very easy, but in the end the nice lady from the cancellations department was able to get me broadband earlier (1-2) weeks if i set it up myself....but then their computer broke, so they say they are gonna call me..
