    Turion processors aren't Dual Core.

cheers so if i was to take a chance on the grabbit board on the 399.99 comet one will i notice a massive difference between this and the duo core t2050 1.6 that im looking at at 539.99

over £150 difference with same ram/hd assuming the grabbit has this

the core duo is a dual core 64 bit processor whereas the turion is just 64 bit(correct me if im wrong)

you wont notice any difference in speed unless you use 64bit programs like xp pro 64bit

  • okay but would you pay £150 more for duo core centrino over this amd al34 processor
  • Depends entirely on what applications you are using...as well as if you are using a (or going to use) a 64-bit OS such as MS Vista. For typical apps. and use, the Turion should be fine esp. if you have 1Gb or over. For multi-tasking or heavy graphics apps., I'd go for the Core Duo.

BTW, you can get a Core Duo for 499 at Comet...

    Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pi 1505
  • yep seen this i get 10% staff too (woolies card) i was thinking this one not much difference more hd and graphics and cheaper warranty but at £539.99 (after discount) quite a lot more

  • 100Gb drive is worth it if you are going to use it...of course, you could always get an external 2.5" USB drive for backups/media storage/etc. One thing is hard to gauge: quality of screen. May be worth popping into a store to check them out...then buy online!

But the Acer looks a lot of hardware at that price...still won't play decent games though.
