  • Have a look at this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=133269

I would run an online scan such as Bitdefender

I would also download Ewido - install it and then update it and then run it.

See what that does for you.

PS Do you have a firewall fitted - it won't help this but it's good for overall protection.
  • IE has a popup blocker, tools, popup blocker.

Check for malware as above, and clean out your cache with https://www.ccleaner.com
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Echo what the others say. Do everything in the fist 4 posts to that thread.

    My thought is this.

You entitled this topic "plagued by pop ups" and you claim "the norton s/ware is supposed to stop these...". Not necessarily.

Norton will stop the malware that Norton's programmers have deisgned it to stop.

If the scans etc. in the above advice don't cure your problem don't be surprised.

You will need to post a HijackThis log to this thread AND details of what pop ups you are still getting. This will help us identify the source of the pop ups and, therefore, the remedial action you will need to take.
