Hi guys and gals,
This is my first visit to the site and the forums and straight away ive something and somebody to rant about!
Its NTL and their uselessness.
Ok, so im moving house end of september, and no longer need the £52 rip off digital tv package. I call them up today (saturday) to cancel and they tell me the disconnections department is closed till monday and that it takes 30 days to disconnect. They also said that id be direct-debitted on 1st October for a months TV (my normal direct debit date) and would get a proportion of my payment back on the 18th October, 30 days after my phonecall to disconnect. I informed them that i move out on 1st Ocotber, and that i would no longer be able to recieve NTL, they said basically its tough.
Can they charge me for a service i dont use?! And if they can do that, i have to wait till they open on monday to cancel incurring another two days charge!

30 days notice is part of the contract, so am afraid they can charge you for it.Gone ... or have I?0

This is right but I waited for eleven months to get back what they owed me. And that was only after I chased it up. And keep an eye out for any bills. They billed me for eleven months even though I was receiving nothing from them. Luckily they kept crediting my account at the same time for some odd reason, hence why I had no knocks on my door.0 -
If you are going to be using NTL at your new home it is worth letting them know this. They may 'transfer' your package instead of cancelling it with the 30 day wait. That way you will atleast get some free (sort of) TV at your new place. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0
