Hi All,
Not sure if this is the right place for this but... does anyone know where you can by Sodastream concentrates over the counter rather than mail order? I think Argos does these but only in big quantities and I don't need that many - only one of tonic and bitter lemon would suffice.
Thanks, Roy

Don't supermarkets sell them anymore? Thats where I alwasy used to get them from0

Thanks for the reply but ... no supermarkets dropped selling these ages ago - perhaps we could get them to re-start selling concentrates again... The last high street retailer that did these in my area of London was Robert Dyas but they only do the sample, and I don't want them.

I received a sodastream for Christmas years ago, never used because I didn't know where to get these concentrates at all or know how it works..
But thinking about it now it might be worth it taking it out of the box if I can get hold of tonic concentrate?
Where online do you buy it?0 -
Hi All again,
Yes in these cash strapped times a Sodastream could save a fortune on fizzy drinks, particularly if you have kids that guzzle them down!
On-line you can get them at Robert Dyas, Amazon (expensive), Lakeland, Sodastream themselves and a host of other sellers. But beware the delivery charges that are astronomical and undo the effects of this cheaper fizz.
Meanwhile I have discovered that some Comet stores may do bottles of some of the concentrates at some stores. Also in London at least John Lewis seem to carry the concentrates, so I'm told. But always ring and check before travelling that the shop you are heading for has the flavour you want.
Anyone else know where the concentrates are hiding on our high streets?

Our Tesco just started stocking the concentrates. Remember, it's only just made a come back, so it will take a little while for the concentrates to become wide spread.
Still much cheaper to use bottles of value sparkling water though. Sodastream was always an expensive con, probably why people eventually consigned them to the attics in the first place. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -

Then buy it, still cheaper than paying £55 - £150 for a machine (then endless canisters) that makes water fizzy. You can get 2 litres of sparkling water in Tesco for 10p, just add the concentrate to a glass and pour in the water.
I'm not saying the concentrates are a waste of time, just paying through the nose for a machine is stupid.
60 litres of sparkling value water = £3
Soda Stream canister (makes 60 litres/after initial £18.99 spend) = £8.99
Just saying consider that before you buy one...this is a money saving ideas forum after all.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Have I got that right? 2 litres for 10p - the nearest match I can find is Clearview Sparkling SpringWater (2L) @ 25p... still cheap. Is it the value version that is 10p for 2 L ?
I'll bet my local Sainsburys doesn't match that price!
Roy
ps. just done a check on Sainsburys web site and Sainsbury's Basics Sparkling Table Water (2L) = 18p, ie. very cheap!
ASDA Smartprice Sparkling Water (2L) = 17p0 -

Just asking because I thought the concentrace is very thick (like the ones for machines in pubs) and was wondering whether it will mix properly?0 -
Yes the concentrate is very thick. In the Sodastream method of operation the concentrate is added after the fizzing process (adding before would cause disaster) into one of the carbonating bottles, the top is put on firmly then the bottle is gently rocked back and forth to mix the concentrate into the fizzy water.... then you open the bottle carefully!
