Vertical Blinds!

I've just had a quote from Hillarys for vertical blinds at my new flat and was pretty staggered at the price (nearly £500 for 2 windows). This is especially as I've already visited blindsuk.net and worked out I could have them delivered for about £100. Does anyone have any experience with them? And is fitting them straightforward? If anyone can recommend someone reliable to fit them (South London area) that would be really helpful as well.

Avoid Hillarys! What a waste of time they are they are so expensive!
I used a local firm who came in at half the price hillarys were quoting.

I have just had a blind fitted last weekend with a local firm - for a bay window it was £100 (and I didn't go with the cheapest blind material either).
Request quotes from local firms before you make a decision.0 -
I'd be interested to hear views from people who have used Hillarys. We had 3 quotes from Hillarys & then 2 local firms and their prices were pretty similar, however then in a follow up call Hillarys offered a 25% discount meaning they infact cheaper than the other two for what would seem to be the same product!0

We got some off Ebay - measure window recess carefully. They arrived a few days later and were very simple to fit. As long as you know how to drill a hole and plug it you should be fine. That is all the skill required.

Get free quotes from local shops and play them against each other until you get the lowest price. My grandfather recently had 3 new ones fitted in his flat. Got 2 quotes and then phoned each of them until eventually got 1 down to about 40% below original quote. Always haggle they have pleanty of margin on these things and at the end of the day as long as they still turn a profit they want your business.0

I got some new made-to-measure blinds for my new house from http://www.247blinds.co.uk/ - excellent prices and next day delivery. In fact they were cheaper, and betetr quality, than the cut-to-size ones from Homebase or B&Q. Very easy to fit too.
Edit: It appear that 247Blinds and Blinds-Depot are the same people:
