Would a 1080P HD box be compatible with a 1080I TV?

Im not sure what you mean by HD box? But sure, nearly all will output at 1080i (or 720P) if required:idea:0

Of course, when you're doing that the blu ray player isn't transmitting a 1080p picture.
OP, be careful what you expect. If you think a box that CAN output 1080p will display 1080p on a tv that doesn't support it, you'd be mistaken.
Try to send 1080p through a 1080i (well, 720p) tv and you'll get a blank screen.
The boxes can output lower resolutions though, which will be supported by your tv including 1080i.0 -

Thanks! That is the answer to the question I meant to ask!:doh:Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.
