Help with real problem debt (credit card)not in my name

Thanks for all your help, but to apple, I would own up if I did not have to care for other people 24/7, there are a lot of people out here saving the goverment a fortune by being unpaid slaves. If it comes to it I will have to explain it.
I know we all do silly things, but sorting them out can be hard. I am not quite out of the woods yet, need too get the arrangements made and pay the damm thing off!

Apple while you are right, and I do agree with the confess and deal with the consequences route, the stress that this could put on alphas mum is a worry, as she is also in ill health. If there is a way to sort it out, which it looks as though there may be, then that would be preferable to upsetting her mother.

There is still of course the option to confess later if this all doesn't work, and alpha can explain that this was done in an effort to deal with it. Hopefully though, this is about sorted.

Ok people lets stop jumping to the conclusions

The first thing is that the OPs mother gave her the card, for one we dont know what the money was spent on, it may have been for the mothers benefit, also we dont know the intentions of the mother, she may have been ok with her daughter to use it.

Also from an entirely unemotional point of view, i dont think anyone would waste time chasing up an 89 year old woman for this debt, so im sure this may be written off if she were to pass away.

I think that maybe signing those papers could have been a mistake as you will possibly be deemed liable for them when your mother passes away.
