Help with lcd tv and dvd recorder.

I recently purchased a bush lcd tv with built in freeview, when it came to setting it up it worked fine with a great signal. I put the ariel straight into the tv. Now i have a dvd recorder and the ariel needs to go into that so therefore the signal is not so strong and i lose some of the channels. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
