Need household rubbish removed

Options
There is some building work going on at the top of my street and the builders have a huge skip. The skip gets rubbish dumped in it each night that the builders didn't put there. Because they have to pay for removal of the waste they empty all the rubbish that other people dump in the skip onto the pavement on the other side of the road.

Its been two weeks now and other that a plastic plod sifting through the crap to find evidence of the people responcible the waste has not been removed and the pile is getting bigger every day. You can't pass it with out having to walk on the road and there must be a risk of vermin etc. The council have said they are taking measures but the waste has still not moved.

Any ideas how to get this resolved sooner rather than later its a bloody eye sore and its doesn't smell to great either?

try calling your local council's flytipping hotline, and/or the environmental health dept.

Tried Enviro Health, they seem more interested in getting the people who are dumping the rubbish than moving it

I second that - if you report it to your local authority as a fly tip they will have to investigate and get it removed.

Technically speaking, the Workmen are the ones dumping the rubbish, albeit not being their rubbish. they have still decided its best left obstructing a public pathway.

It is no different if a neighbour dumped his sofa in your garden, and you remove it to the roadside, the enviro could still charge YOU for dumping it.

Why don't they put a cover over it, they can either make their own or I have seen purpose made ones on Skips
