My elderly Mum shops occasionally from this company - nothing major just little stuff. Back at the end of July she gave me a letter to post with her cheque in it. I stuffed it in my motorbike jacket pocket and promptly forgot about it until today.

Found it today and phoned them to apologise. Their late payment fee is £12.00. Because it was 2 months I had to pay £25.00. Their terms and conditions say that if you don't pay and they HAVE TO REMIND YOU then the cost is £12.00. But apparently they only sent 1 reminder in August which my Mum ignored because she knew the cheque had gone.

So if they only reminded us once surely the charge should have been £12.00 and not £25.00!

Plus aren't late payment fees supposed to cover their costs? So what cost did they incur? One letter.

I know it was my fault but it still annoys me that firms have these inflated charges which in no way reflect their actual costs! GGGGGRRRRRRR.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

Peace, love and labradors!
