Santander Savings Account

Applied for one (the 2.75%) online over a week ago but heard nothing at all...contacted them today & they have no trace of my application ?!?

Thinking I'd get the ref number (OLA...) by email I didn't keep it on screen - DOH!!

Anyone else have problems with them??

Also No problems but it took a week or so. Its the holiday period, less staff maybe?
  • hey the quickest way if you still havent heard anything is to do a new application for the esaver 2.75% get a new ref number if you havent heard anything for them after 3 day ( id request ) then just ring this number 0845 6033507 with your new ref number

    hope this helps

I applied for one Thursday/Friday of last week. Thought I'd get an e-mail within a day or two but no. I did write the ref number down OLA... but until reading this I hadn't identified what I'd written down was for this application, so thanks for that!

Whenever I've applied for an Alliance & Leicester savings account in the past, I've had an almost instant reply by e-mail from them but now it's Santander it seems I won't be getting the same service :(. I think they should at least send an automated acknowledgement that the application has been received.

I'm not having much luck with new savings accounts. I applied for an Egg one early July and it still hasn't been opened, some problem with DH's date of birth. I'm tempted to open an AA one and see if I have any luck with that.
  • I applied for a current account with sandanter last week because of the cashback and have heard nothing at all. However with A&L I recieved an instant reply when opening a current account with them. I still haven't recieved my cashback from A&L as well its been 5 months.......................... I thought natwest were bad.

Update: Just had an e-mail from Santander and the account is up and running and I've added it to my list of accounts. Think I might forget the Egg one now as it's easier/quicker to move money from two linked accounts.

I agree, I hate it when you don't get a confirmation. You could wait for week for a reply that isn't coming!

My hubby went into Santander to transfer his ISA with them to another one. This was two weeks ago, still heard nothing. Hopeless
  • I just got reply from them today, I have an A&L current account and savings account. Now I just opened a santander current account, will anything happen as they are both the same company now?
