Why are you putting the seat down when you are going? Seems to be either wrongly fitted or just doesn't fit the pan you have. No problems here - and closes so slowly that you should be able to finish before it went all the way down anyway.

we had ours from B&Q, it wasnt expensive, certainly no more than £15 but it was a year or two ago. As an aside, I went into B&Q a few months ago and they were on offer, I instantly noticed the packaging and it made me laugh so much I photographed it....

I go and watch the bog seat closing all the time with my kids and find it equally hillarious, what is your problem?
