Somerset Council snow clearance team.

Options
Last Friday a brand new gritting lorry with flashing lights and a bright yellow snow plough was belting up and down the A38 near Burnham-on-Sea. It did at least four runs to my knowledge.

Yesterday I drove along the same stretch of road and to my delight there was not a trace of snow anywhere to be seen.

Well done guys for doing such a good job. :T:T:T
I married my cousin. I had to...
I don't have a sister. :D
All my screwdrivers are cordless.

Hope you took a picture, that'll be the last you see of it for a long long while. Probably years!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Was there maybe something else on the road e.g oil etc and they were using grit to help increase traction?

Not actually gritting, just belting up and down the same stretch of road with yellow lights flashing.

Or testing a new machine; I mean afterall it would be much better if they waited until December then found a major fault or flaw with it.

That would smack of forward planning and joined up thinking. ;)We are talking about a local council here after all. :D (I couldn't find a "tongue in cheek smilie for my original post.)

or perhaps it's a new vehicle/crew & getting used to it/them now makes more sense than waiting until there snow & ice everywhere?

They're training bin men, ordinary van drivers etc in the art of gritting ... cos we were all complaining during the Winter about no gritters to be seen ... remember ?

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. The joys of public service.
