picasso

I've just received a mailshot which states that I will receive £1.60-£2.00 for each envelope "stuffed and returned".I am not interested whatsoever especially as there is a "refundable" one-off charge of £49.99.I am posting the website link so others can decide......

sounds like a scam to me- let me guess the one off charge is debitted straight away and nothing is received in replace of it!
Or am I just being too darn cynical!Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I would never go for something like this that requires you to send off money first. :-/Torgwen..........

Aparently there are machines that can do this very cheaply, so none of these "envelope stuffing" offers are genuine.
I would be very sceptical.0 -

DO YOU NOT WATCHDOG?

All these 'envelope stuffing' ideas are scams!
All they tell you to do is what they are doing i.e. send out mailshots asking for money!0 -

yes its a scam
I speak to ppl every day who are ripped off in this way
it give genuine firms a bad name
always check if a firm is a member of the DSA - the direct selling association and you can check with the DTI and traing standards
ask yourself - why would they pay for this service and what am I getting for my money
there are also home workers advice lines - but my book is missing
when I find it I will post it

HOME WORKERS ADVICE LINE
0800 174 095
OR
DSA HELP LINE
0207 497 1234
as a rule ask for proof of earnings and turnover
avoid ringing 0870 type numbers as they hide the firms location

My husbnad is an it manager at a direct mailing house and they don't use machines, they use people who work within the office and homeworkers, but obviously they dont charge any fee at all.If it puts a smile on your face its gotta be good for you!!! :-)0 -
the difference being that firms charge you to do this at home.
common sense says it has to cost more to mail to envelopes out to strangers - to then be mailed back - then checked.
also these firms claim you can make serious money stuffing enveoples when infact any idiot can do it - so you wouldnt pay top dollar for staff to do it -
dont pay money for this type of work
as I bet you will lose you money
there are also many genuine firms offering work from home - but WORK is the key word
