1 yr student account?

hello guys

Just a quickie i'm going back to uni on mon to do a PGCE just wondering if any of you know if i there are any banks were i can get a student account for a 1yr course (asked at my normal bank HSBC and they said it had to be for at leats 2 yrs)

    You might have more luck with a graduate account, you will probably get a slightly bigger overdraft too.

    cheers for quick reply but i graduated from my degree in 2002 and got the HSBC graduate account which came to an end last year dont think id qualify for another as i graduated so long ago.

    You will qualify for another student account! I'm with the HSBC and graduated from my first degree in 2001. I went back to uni to do a PGCE in 2004 and even though I'd come to the end of my graduate bank account, they were still able to give me another student account for a year......... sadly though you don't get the rail card (or whatever the latest bribe is), but you do get the interest free overdraft. By the way, I've still got an interest free overdraft facility from my PGCE!!!!

    Go into your local HSBC branch with the confirmation from the GTTR of your course and they can change it.

    just wanted to say thanks went into my hsbc yesterday and got my student account, they ummed and arrhed saying they normally give it to courses for 2 yrs i pointed out that i had 2 bank accounts, mortgage & cc with them so she went to speak to the manager and aggreed to give me it hurrah!!
