my OH is a discharged bankrupt and about 9 months ago got a vanquis card at an extortionate interest rate to try and boost his credit rating. vanquis keep upping his credit limit, first from £500 to £750 and now to £1000, my question is, is there a card that is a good 'bridge' between vanquis and the majority of cards?
i think if he set about applying for CCs he would be turned down which would have a negative effect on his credit rating, has anyone been in a similar position and been accepted for a card that they could recomend we try - would like to get away from vanquis asap if possible!!!

Has he ensured that the bankruptcy is actually marked as discharged on his credit report, along with the defaults and any CCJs also showing a satisfaction date of no later than the date of discharge, along with £NIL balances?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Barclaycard Initial is a very good card. Still high interest, but no where near as extortionate as Vanquis/Aqau etc.0

Barclaycard won't provide a discharged bankrupt with a credit card unless more than six years has lapsed and the BR is no longer appearing on the credit file atall.
The next two are Capital One Classic and Aqua and that's about it until the six year time clicks over
