We have a joint account (RBS) - My husband never ever uses his card, I go into the branch every week and withdraw the housekeeping. Now we are wondering if I was ever ill or not around, and he had to use his own card, would it be the same PIN number as mine ?

The PIN on each card of our joint account is identical. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0

never heard of that before....i thought that was the whole point. one PIN given out with each card, unique to the card. Otherwise the number is engineered and goes against the entire principle of Random Number Generation.
Of course, theres nothing stopping you manually changing the PINDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts

Ours are different on both our joint accounts, paperwork came through addressed to us individually as well instead of the usual stuff (statements etc.) that comes with both names on.Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -

Maybe sometimes it's unique to the account rather than the card? I know that we've also had replacement cards which had the same PIN as the previous card.0 -
I will phone them up and ask
All banks must do things differently I think. 0 -
The bank won't issue the same PIN on two cards. However you can change the PIN to whatever you want at an ATM.0
