lol, were saving/working to a very small budget on everything! For us flowers won't be a big part of the wedding, so can make a big saving there. Food costs a fortune even though we are trying to keep it down. Not having a honeymoon (can't afford it) cake will be made by family so cheap! Bought my dress a long time ago in a sale. Hoping to get suits on special offer and getting accessories on ebay (etc.) or making my own. Doing all the decorating myself. Not planning on paying for drinks if I don't have to. Just the photography to work out!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I am going to try cut back on flowers, wherever I can really. I would prefer to have a fake bouquet I can keep forever than pay more for one that will die after a few days! Although where I can cut that is debatable since we are having a church wedding and I think there is some form of expectation there **sigh**

we havent planned a honeymoon really, but may go to Turkey for a few days to a place owned by a relative.

Parents paying for reception food and drink which is fab-we are having free flowing drink as wedding is away and we dont want our guests to have to pay anything after making the effort to travel.

Dress is NOT MSE but I love it so cannot cut it back.

meant to add, our cake comes as part of our reception deal, its just a slab of cake. Photography is something we are kind of splurging on!

Thats what ive splurged on. Along with a videographer. Everyone ive asked has said the day has gone by so quickly so capture it in everyway possible so you can look back in years to come. I managed to get a great photography package for half of what i had planned, so used some of the left over to pay for the video. :D

Everything else we do want to spend a bit on to make sure they are perfect...the one thing i would cut back in is flowers, and we have! (yey!) managed to get a friend of the family, who is a florist, to do us a really good deal..
Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage!

I'd love to spend less on food & drink, as that is the largest cost by far! However, I don't want my guests to have rubbish food, so we're not going to scrimp on that (fortunately our parents are helping with that, as they insist that the food & drink should be good)

So for me, the big blowout I'm avoiding is the dresses.
I can't justify spending £1,000 on a dress (though I understand that that is the important thing for some) so I'm budgetting around £200 max for me, and hopefully around £50-70 for my BMs

Easily do-able, i bought my dress off ebay for £150 and a pair of full length satin bridesmaid dresses for £11. A bit of a gamble as to whether it'd fit if you buy without trying on, but ask seller for measurements.

The only thing we haven't saved on is the food and our rings.

    My dress was a bargain.

Daughters Coast dress was half price.

OH's suit was from Asda of all places!

Son's suit will be from Asda or Matalan.

Babies suit was from eBay, but was obviously only worn the once, and is all BHS. (£11 including postage, for trousers, shirt, waistcoat and cravat)

Flowers I'm definitely doing myself now.

A friend and her friend are making our cake.

Honeymoon wasn't expensive, but we're going somewhere where we love, so we knew it would never cost an arm and a leg.

Mum is giving us money for a photographer.

I'd make savings wherever possible, even if I was loaded lol x

My dress is brand new with all the tags still on it and it cost me £179.99! Plus, it suits my figure to a T and I think it's beautiful :o

This is who I got mine from : http://shop.ebay.co.uk/sarah-kate-bridal/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25

Good work! Yeah, I think it'll be fine for me to do it for £200 - seen a lovely one in Monsoon for that price. Either that or a friend has offered to make me a dress (I just pay for materials)

    Great bargain!
I'd prolly go high street & take my girls to try different styles as I can never tell how something will look untill I see it on someone.
