Sent phone to Earthmobile and now they have ceased trading

Options
My boyfriend sent his Blackberry to Earth Mobile recycling and was supposed to receive about £65. He received e-mail confirmation and then they said his cheque should be in the post. Three weeks later and no cheque, so he starts phoning and e-mailing, but no reply. The mailboxes are full. Today the site says Earth Mobile has ceased trading. Any advice as to how to get the phone back? We're students and can't really afford not to, although I'm not hopeful. :(

Not much you can do if you have agreed to accept the money other than being unsecured creditors.

You could raise an argument that the title had not transferred until payment was made.
