Thanks - I came across something that made me think that might be the case. I was worried that the 5 digit ones didnt get you close enough but so long as you can add street it sounds fine.
Great - I think you have helped me make my mind up.0 -
hi,
i am looking for a satnav mainly with speed camera alert ideally within a budget of £200.
i came across Tomtom one v2 GB from curry's -http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0166771927.1159121444@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccefaddimdjgfgmcflgceggdhhmdgmk.0&page=Product&fm=10&sm=0&tm=undefined&sku=289848&category_oid=-27387
Is this any good? can someone let me know please?

I use a HP Ipaq hx4700 and TT Navigator 5. Picked up the whole package for less than 200 notes and you get the added advantage of the PDA functions too. I could not recommend any of the current TT "all in one" devices due to the price, the size and the lack of extra functionality.553780080

THIS CAN BE HAD FOR £179.99
http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/sho...ghlight=TOMTOM - THANKS TO UK HOT DEALS
This is the old TomTom One.
The Halfords one is the new GB version. It is slimmer but I am not sure if there are any other significant differences other than the latest mapping of course.0 -
I bought hubby the NavSure from Halfords today for £99. For what we will use it for (leisure travel, the odd holiday) its a great little unit, hubbys gone off tonight to work with it telling him which way to go!
It only has 4 digit postcode search, but once you have your area, you are invited to put in the options of road name and house no and then nearby road junction. It also has the touch screen, or a pen thingy to use instead of finger, mounts cables etc., in the box. And according to the salesman we will be able to update the maps etc,. in the future.
I haven't investigated it properly, but it has a SD card slot and looks like you can enter places of interest, find the nearest petrol etc.,
I've no idea how this compares to the more expensive machines, but for the price I was impressed.
