Bought from Gumtree :(

Hi

I bought something from Gumtree last week. I thought the seller was genuine - spoke through texts, emails, phonecalls etc but then she said the item was damaged and could not send it. But has not sent my money back

Stupidly I dont where this person lives - all I have is a phone no and she wont answer and her account details

Can I do anything? The bank said they wont get involved either

Thats the trouble with gumtree is a scammers paradise I would never buy anything from gumtree

Afraid your going to have to write it off and learn from this

Gumtree is fine if you use it like you would ads in a paper. Only buy things you can go and check out in person,

So OP you sent a bank transfer to someone you had never met for an item you hadn't seen. Enough said I think.
