Door frame hinges recesses

Oh I see - answer doesn't change from my edit. I see he's already cut at least one door so presumably the frames have to change because the cut in the door desn't now match up with the exsting cut in the frame? Or am I being a tad cynical?
Cheers
Yes pretty accurate, we are talking about the existing grooves in the door frames. Pic just showing a recess/groove/mortice.
The cheap and nasty doors we are sending to the tip got positioned by the former owener
with hinges at different hights to one another, so at the top of the frame the first hinge is 10cm from the
end of the frame, the bottom is 22cm and so on across the house, I think I know why tho.
My joiner is an old hand and he said that the internal doors in this house were 2nd hand (some were hanged up side down!)
so the former owner must have got the doors with the hinges on and simply made the grooves/recesses for the hinges to match.
So to sort it all out and place the hinges for the new doors the joiner will need to create new grooves on the door frame.
Thanks for the advice about the filling, now I'll need to dig in the garage for really thin wood :TFive exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

when 100 yr old door frames start to look like swiss cheese, (due to various door changes), its time to replace the whole door frame.
it all depends on what final finish is acceptable to you?Get some gorm.0
