Hi,
I need the smallest, lightest laptop possible for £1500.
It's to be used for field research and will be storing recorded data.
Any suggestions?

If you don't need the latest spec, you could always go second hand for a couple of hundred instead.

If as I guess this is being bought for you by company etc, I'd take a look at Sony, I'm sorry I don't have a link, but believe I heard Sony had the lightest of laptops, while they are known to produce very good quality laptops.
If you are paying out of your own pocket, fieldwork requires a basic tough laptop, although if buying new, do get accidental insurance, as damp conditions, have been known to destroy a laptop.0 -
