Emigrating to New Zealand - want to keep savings here for now

Hi I am hoping to emigrate to New Zealand soon and I am having problems getting good advice about savings so I hope you can help me.

Due to awful exchange rates at present, I want to leave most of my savings here in the UK so need a bank that will give me as good an interest rate as possible. I receive a small work pension and also want to keep that being paid over here for the time being - I have read that I may be eligible for a 3 year NZ tax exemption for monies earned overseas.

I have so far been unable to find information about banks that will allow me to do this. I am also interested to know about institutions that will not charge vast amounts to transfer money (or rip me off with poor exchange rates). I am not talking about huge sums and cannot afford to lose out transferring.

Thank you
