Just a question about buying things with credit cards with them taking the money and not delivering the goods. Are we covered to claim the money back from failed delivery from suppliers? if so what is the process.
I've just recently ordered 15 items from from dvd site and they have told me the dvd's are unavailable and will not be sent. However I see on my statement they have took the money for the order!
Are we protected if this sort of thing happens?
I have a VISA LLOYDS TSB Credit Card. I don't have insurance with it so what is my rights?
thanks for any responce.

Yes you are covered. Both the company involved and your credit card company are obliged to see that you get your money back (or your goods delivered).
Start by asking the company to refund you. If that fails phone your credit card company. They will normally send you a form to fill in. It's a slow process though, expect it to take around 6 weeks.
Note you are not covered by law if you are ordering goods from abroad (although some card issuers have said they cover you voluntarily).0 -

I was on the understanding that you can only go to your card company if it is over £100.0

You are right, Daveboy. The amount must be between £100 and £30,000 for the credit card company to be forced to cover you.
I keep forgetting as on the two occasions I claimed the credit card company repayed me without quibbling for small amounts. One of them was for only £5.70!
So the answer is that don't have to cover you under £100 but in practice they probably will.0
