Gutted - gone over my Capital One credit limit by £3

    Certainly agree with everyone else here, chances are they won't increase your limit on the 4th statement and there won't be any point trying to argue the toss with Cap 1

    But - do leave the account open no matter what happens. A limit increase will happen, it will just take longer. Spend less on the account leaving a safer margin for error.

    If you haven't had an increase after six to nine months look at taking out another sub prime credit card, perhaps an Aqua Card but leave the Capital One account open to demonstrate stability.

    Aqua tend to be more generous with their initial limits and increases anyway :o

    I guess it looks like everyone has chosen option A) - Run sensibly and Keep Card Open.

    I've just paid the full balance £103 off the card via Faster Payment. Will make a small purchase later this month and repay in full again. And will keep this going until 2011 when maybe I'll apply for the Aqua card then if I don't get an increase within 9 months?
