I fancy some scam baiting.

I've just received this amazing email:

i recieve at least 5 of these a day to my personal email address, i would love to know where they got it from. have never replied coz i dont want more of them than i get already:mad:

I use spamarrest.com - really stops :spam: getting to your inbox - I do pay for the service, but it is good. With regard to questions like, where do they get my email from?

simple, they use software that sends out spam-bots that trawl the internet and harvest email addresses. Sites can be targetted, forums are good targets as very often in the threads email addresses can be picked up.

I've got configurable email so I can make as many addresses as I like.
I've recently started to receive about 4-5 junk mails per day, must have been taken from one of the many websites I've joined.

Do you have any idea where they got your E mail address from? Do you have good anti-virus and firewall software on your computer?

AC and firewall is all good, I ran a security check from a free website and came back 100%.

If you want to have a go at the noble art of scambaiting, why not ask for advice from one of the 419 scambaiter websites? I'm sure they will be glad of your help and should be able to guide you safely through such a dangerous enterprise.

If you reply 'reply' from a different e-mail address, it's not like the scammer mailed you personally so he/she won't know they didnt e-mail that account.

What a great site! I get shed loads of email scams into my bulk and inbox every week and like tom, I also fancy duping some naughty scallys. Shall have to have a good read up on it so that I can get max entertainment value for money.

not that simple..... anyone who's determined enough can work out where an email is coming from........
