We need a new kitchen, found this company "Simply Kitchens" on the internet which looked good. Contacted them and asked for their design/planning service. An appointment was made and a guy arrived, spent over 2 hours with us designing our new kitchen. He then made scale plan and listed all the units we needed and we placed the order.
The order came and my husband started to build the cupboards...
so far so good...then we find that some of them don't fit and are in fact too deep, 20cms too deep. I rang the company and was told to saw them down to fit! I asked if the designer could come back to sort it out but was told no.
We now find that the sink won't fit into the unit, the infills are too small and the cooker hood too big as well as a list of missing parts.
I'm getting no joy from their customer services, I have e-mailed the owner of the company twice with no reply and will send copies tomorrow by registered post.
I am annoyed that they offer a design service then kop out when it goes wrong but I'm also annoyed by their attitude, not even a "sorry how can we help to resolve this"
I have to ring them tomorrow again so any help or advice please as I'm at my wit's end.

hi joiners do saw down units to fit for depth, thats quite common, although the parts missing should be sent to you, what size of sink did you get single bowl or 1 1/2 and what size of unit was ordered for this,1000.1200 and what size is the cooker hood 600 or bigger its usually made central over your oven. As regards to the infills do you mean fillets long thin piece to fill in gaps same colour as your kitchen they come in different sizes so should be easy enough for them to change over,The design guy should know exactly what size of unit to order for any size sink etc.
Have you paid for this order yet if so how did you pay, you have received an incomplete order so therefore they should fullfill it or take them to trading standards infact call them before you call the kitchen company and get a ref no so that when you call the kitchen company you can tell them your not happy with the kitchen and that you want them to rectify the problems and that you have contacted trading standards and have a ref no to continue this case with them. hope this helps0 -
Thanks purplejac, I'll be ringing them to to-day to try to resolve everything.
The designer gave us a 600mm unit for the sink as it has a slimline dishwasher next to it. It's the depth again the sink wouldn't fit into it because of the cross strengthening pieces which have had to be cut down. It's just sooo frustrating.0 -
Hi if your fitting a single bowl sink and have a slimline dishwasher as well to put in id have ordered a 1200 unit you will need 500-600 for the sink side of it and the drainer would go over the dishwasher side which would take up either 400 or 500 depending on the size of the slim line dishwasher if its built in unfortunatly yeah the cross bar would have to be cut also again this is quite common but i know exactly what you mean people buy a kitchen spend alot of money and then when they look into the cupboards they realize how much bits have been cut out its the same if you go to b and q etc and look inside the cupboards im afraid. But perhaps im reading it wrong maybe the dishwasher is just sitting beside the unit under the worktop in which case a 600 would do the sink but again crossbar would need to be cut if its a 1 1/2 bowl lol sorry for the long rant and possible confusion just trying to figure out what the plan looked like for my sins i worked with homebase for about 3years ordering kitchens and fixing all the planners mistakes lol nightmare as you can imagine good luck any problems let us know.0

Sorry to tell you....YOU HAVE BEEN SCAMMED
I'm in a similar position and without a kitchen right down to no basic facilities. No running water...nothing but simply kitchens carcasses.
You can keep phoning them, threaten with trading standards as I've done but you will only give yourself a headache.
Simply kitchens don't care, they won't help you and in a few weeks or months time they will simply be trading under another name and scamming more people out of their hard earned cash.
I'm currently going through the trading standards route along with contacting national newspapers and making a county court judgment against them. All of which is pretty pointless but it gives me an outlet for my frustrations with not being able to even make myself a cup of tea without having to fill the kettle from my bathroom.
I can't afford to replace the kitchen which has parts missing, cupboards that don't fit, a work surface that doesn't fit, doors that don't fit..the list is endless. These crooks need stopping.0
