I bought a clematis Montana "Marjorie" last year and have it growing up a pergola in my garden, it's growing very well but has not flowered since buying it. Does anyone know why??

Sometimes they need about three year sunder their belt before flowering. Also they like a dressing of potash - wood ash about the base.
They prefer to be planted with their boots/roots in the shade ( I use a flat rock over the base ) & their face in the sun.
Next spring I'd give it a dressing of potash & stand well back!

Choille has good advice, I wouldn't expect flowering from a new clematis until its second year minimum - anything else is a bonus.
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
