Only Facebook crashes - Why !!!! - Help

Can anyone shed any light on this please
when ever my daughter logs into Facebook on her Dell Inspiron 1750, when she strats to type, it appears to crash complety causing the laptop to shut down, now this only happens when on Facebook not on any other site
I have recently posted a similar problem, at the time a faullty hard drive problem was found, have since installed a new hard drive, yet still the problems occurs
have had a look on Google most answers appear to be 1 - 2 years out of date
She is running windows 7, firefox, both are fully upto date
please can someone shed some light on this, its so dam frustrating :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

to be honest I haven't used IE for many many years, have used Firefox for so long I can't even remember IE
however what I'll say is :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
have just advised my daughter to try Facebook on IE, all went well for 5-10 minutes, then :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
yes you guessed it, it crashed, logged back on after a short while it crashed again, so so dam frustrating
as it only appears to happen on my daughters dell laptop
on all the computers/laptops within household they all run on firefox0 -
Try turning off Facebook chat.0

for firefox, try the noscript addon - try the site with only facebook allowed in the optionsIT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer0

I can't be of any use- other than to say I have the exact same problem on firefox with the national express coach website- nothing else!DTD...Dreading The Detox.0

This suggests a problem with some software running universally across both browsers.

apologises for not updating sooner, been trying to get my daughter on the laptop & on facebook, well after several "successful" log in's to facebook, without crashing, can I say many, many thanks for the tip/advice
it appears your advice has done the trick
no longer am I getting a screaming daughter yelling Dadddddddddddddddddddddddddddd, its keeps crashing
