I have just received the building insurance for my bungalow from Barclays. It is £120 but I have found several cheaper quotes on a comparison site. Barclays are on the list at £79. As an existing customer would I be allowed to accept this quote and not renew my existing policy with them? Or would it just be easier just to go with one of the other companies. I know I could ring Barclays but I doubt they would match the £79 price as this includes 15% online discount.

you can cancel & take out a new policy. On every renewal I get a quote from my existing insurers & it is always cheaper, competion for business. Dont forget to go to cashback sites, there is one company thru cashback you get £45, plus take out contents & your building is free, worth a look surelyNo longer posting on freebies or comps0

Thanks for your quick reply - I do appreciate it. Have started early so have 3 weeks to find a new quote. Are you allowed to tell me which cashback site. At the moment I have my contents and building separate but I like the sound of taking out contents and getting building free!0

Irrespective of anything else you should ditch Barclays. I know to my cost through 3 different departments (banking-mortgage-insurance) that if you actually need them to do anything other than take your money they're absolute ****.0

Point taken - only been with them this year but like all my insurances I never seem to claim so have never really had any dealings with them. Thanks0
