No because cheating is unethical and not fair on James if you are still competing with him. Is that still going on? If no why would you want to cheat yourself?Should I Cheat?
i'm suprised you're even considering this course of action- seems at odds with the lessons you could (arguably should) have learnt already from site and more importantly people who post on it.I probably (well definately) won't have this money in my account which would mean using my overdraft for less than a week until I get paid but with that pay packet I get a bonus of about £400.0 -
Consider it a treat for the few pence it would cost you (if it is pence like post above suggested). Next time have half instead of a pint and you've made the money up.
If a girl said 'should I use my vouchers on myself as I need a pick me up instead of Christmas' most posts I have seen say yes!
Never underestimate the power of motivation! Mind you, if the bonus isn't definite, how long could you go on for?

I think you should wait and do it properly - you'll feel better for it as you may feel at bit itchy waiting for your bonus.
Just a question slightly diverting from this thread - How did you pay back all that money in a year (was looking at your signature)? Thats a fantastic ahievement, well done!Debt at highest (Jan 2006) £11,823.28
Debt at present (October 2010) £0.00 :j0 -
I kind of agree to wait, for no other reason really than technically you won't be under 25k till the overdraft is wiped out on payday, you will still owe the £200.
Good lord SS what more do you need to give yourself a pat on the back. You have paid off 9k in 12 months! Give yourself a break and tell yourself you have been a complete star already.

A complete change of my life if I'm honest! Been making payments of around £750 a month and have made an £1,100 overpayment this month thats yet to come off the total. But hopefully it's all going to be worth it.
Thank you.

I've seen the errors of my way!

I'm just robbing Peter again and I've left those days behind so I'm gonna wait!

Since it will give you a psychological (:p ) boost, just do it. Paying off debt is a long slog, but I found that getting beyond certain milestones gave me a boost and I could tackle the remaining debt with renewed vigour. As Snaggles pointed out, the interest on the overdraft for a short while wouldn't be much - go for it!Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0 -
Good to hear you've seen sense SS. You nearly rocked the foundations of MS for a while there !

I'm lucky enough to be debt free myself, apart from my mortgage which just so happens to be £25,000 now. I would love to be in a position to go into a head-to-head challenge with you to somehow clear my mortgage as you have been a real inspiration in your determined efforts to clear you debt.
However.....having a house is a big mouth to feed and there is no way I could make the kind of payments towards my mortgage that you have made towards your debt. But if I ever get a salary increase, it is definitely something I will consider so keep looking over your shoulder
