Does anyone know how to set barometers ?

Hi all,
I need some advise and help.

I bought a barometer from a charity shop. I think that it is an aneroid barometer but I am not sure ? It looks very similar to photo number two at http://www.quicksilver-barometers.co.uk/barometer_information.htm, where it states 'The centre one is in both inches mercury and millibars and is showing 30.35" - 1030 mb'.

As advised at the above website, I have tried setting it for an aneroid barometer but it does not appear to be working.

Any advise and help would be much appreciated.

It is a lovely looking piece of furniture so it would be great if I could get it working properly.

Thanks

Your link doesn't work for me, but this one does! (You left the 'l' out of .html)

If you move back up the page a little from the photos of the three aneroid barometers you will see on the right a diagram indicating a small screw at the back of the barometer which you can turn to adjust the pointer at the front. Is that what you have done, but without effect?

What's the nearest airfield to your house? You will also need to know the height of the barometer above sea level. If you want to PM me your postcode I can calculate it for you.

Thanks for your help but I have already tried that without effect.

In which case I would suggest that it is broken. Our one operates with that screw adjustment...
