which web cam to buy?

Hi,

We've moved away from most of our friends & family due to work & we are thinking of getting a web cam to keep in touch. we use trillian messenger at the moment as most of them are split between yahoo messenger & MSN.

I've just seen this web cam on buy one get one free from play.com

Anyway I've never used a webcam before is there anything wrong with this one as a starter or can you reccomend a better one, I'm happy to pay more if need be but not a stupid amount more.

Hi you could see this thread I posted in, the Logitech ones I recommend and they have built in mic which is better than having to fork out for another microphone.

QuickCam Communicate STX Plus highly recommended by me

the OH uses this for family in france and further afield i love it to bits we have tried several different ones mostly cheap ones until i found the quickcam above has inbuilt mic and additonal headsets as well.
