There is a rule that says "Don't convert lossy format to lossy format" and both MP3 & WMA are lossy. You'll end up losing sound quality following the conversion whatever bitrate you use. Always encode your music in MP3 format from the original source as it is the format compatible with all players.
If you are having to convert then just use the same btrate as your original file as increasing the bitrate above this would only increase the size of your files without any gain in quality. As I said above you'll definitely end up losing some sound quality although this may not be perceivable using lower-end equipments.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
Well soundtaxi said it had converted but still they show as WMA.
It is only songs/albums I downloaded from MSN which are in WMA. Think I will stop using MSN if they are WMA, too much hassle to convert them to MP3.0 -

If you have a Creative MP3 player, why would you want to change the WMA to MP3??
Creative players play WMA files and nearly all of their players will play protected ones too.
What model of player do you have??
The Creative Audio Converter program will only convert unprotected WMA files unfortunately.Dave. :wave:0 -
I wanted to transfer some music to the mp3 in my phone but it won't accept any WMA files.0

From Soundtaxi FAQs:-Q: My converted file names have a different file name than the original file name.
A: Set output path in settings back to a valid value. Make sure it always includes "<SOURCENAME>" at end, like
c:\Converted\<SOURCECHAIN>\<SOURCENAME>0
