Timber House - Buildings and Contents Insurance

Hi
Can anyone recommend an Insurer who will charge a reasonable price for buildings and contents insurance for a timber framed, metal roofed house? I am going insane trying to find a reasonable quote!! Also, we live in a rural area so the premium should, ideally, be matched to that.
Thanks
Dawn

I take it you have tried all the comparison sites. No longer posting on freebies or comps0 -
I take it that you have been able to obtain quotes - you just don't like what insurers are quoting! Try an independent broker - however as your property is non-standard construction it is seen as a higher risk so you are going to have a choice - either pay what insurers are asking for the cover you require or don't insure. No point in under insuring either to save money as in the event of a claim average will apply and if you have under-insured by 50% any amount claimed will be reduced by 50%.
There are bound to be some specialist insurers so a broker will be a good place to start.0
