Moved into my house around 9 months ago with the ideal icos he15 boiler, It's around 4 years old and hasn't been serviced yet, am planing to do this as i think it was overheating when i had the thermostat on it turned up high, which was solved by switching it off and on again, i've turned it down a bit lower and it has stopped that for now. I couldn't tell if that was the problem though as it doesn't disply a fault code when there is an error on it only a line, so not sure if it's a disply problem or pcb, although it does show a c when it is on and heating up.
Also had a problem with the 3 port valve actuator which was changed in feb and the system worked fine up until a few days ago when it started to heat the hot water when the timer was switched off. I suspect the actuator again, but am waiting for the guy to come and look at it.
I am wondering if it would be a stupid waste of money to junk the boiler and water tanks and go for a combi boiler instead, as i suspect the boiler is going to need to have some money spent on it and i have also been advised to have a power flush because we had to keep bleeding two radiators regularly over the winter.
