Is NOW a good time to invest money in Natwest stock and share account?

It is becoming clear that Natwest are living up to their expectation in selling you an inappropriate investment without any explanation of what it does and using misinformation to get the sale.
Can't disagree but must add the OP seems extremely naive and shouldn't really even be considering investing if they don't understand (Or attempt to learn) the basics. I don't think you can complain if somethings not appropriate if you blindly hand over cash with £ signs in your eyes..
As the MSE himself says, it's companies jobs to screw us out of money and our job to stop them.0 -
dude have alook at hargreabes lansdown website and morning star fund website, these are both excellent and dunstoth has been around for ages offering free advice to newbies so if you do go with an IFA i would recommend him !
but generally the banks will rip you off left right and center and they only offer a limited range of funds0 -
Thanks for all the feedback. I have decided not to go with the Natwest Stocks and shares account and will be looking for an IFA. Can anyone suggest any IFA which have the best rates please? Also would you suggest I go for an IFA instead of a discount broker?0

If you know what you are doing go to a discount broker - all they do is follow your instructions and give no advice. Your questions so far suggest you might not.
What we did was to start off with an IFA who recommended our initial investments. When we had a better understanding of how things worked we were able to manage all our further purchases ourselves.0 -

It doesnt work like that.
IFAs have access to the whole of market. We all get the same market (although some special terms/deals may be available to some which are not available to others). You dont invest in the IFA. The IFA is an arranger for you. Also would you suggest I go for an IFA instead of a discount broker?
A discount broker is an IFA that is not giving advice. Most IFAs offer this service.
However, with discount brokers you choose the product and the funds and will not get any advice. You also get less consumer protection as you cannot complain about it being wrong for you later. If you DIY then you need to know what you are doing. Like any area of DIY, if you do know what you are doing you can save money. However, if you make a pigs ear of it then it could cost you a lot more.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
