If I gave Natwest Phone Banking a call would they be able to tell me, or will they write to me ?.
Thanks for all your help.
Actionline wont be able to tell you however you would need to go into your local branch to discuss the matter.
Have you spoke to the company who sent the payment? have they confirmed the payment hasnt been returned.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
Thanks for that, I never knew that just goes to show, will try and sort it out with Natwest first and see what happens.
Thanks Anyway.
The point I'm trying to make is that if they have used RBS and transferred to Natwest, they are part of the same banking group. So it will make it alot easier to get this sorted. As StClair has stated, you need to get the payee to look at this, as the payment may be returned, it may be sat in a rejection account etc. Natwest won't be able to tell you I'm afraid.Best Regards

Spoke to child benefit on Tueday to change the bank details back and they confirmed it had been sent to Natwest but 'When' it bounces back they will forward on to the correct bank. I got the feeling that it would take a few days to be returned and was not instant.
Local branch is 60 mile round trip as I am in Scotland, so could I just write to my branch.0 -

Hi, Sorry I should have been clearer, I have already spoke to HMRC who advised that when (If) it is returned they will forward it onto the correct bank, so not sure if I need to do anything, I was more concerned that It had gone into my closed Natwest account as was just sitting there.0
