The big insurance swindle?

I just want to make money savers aware that when it comes to renewing their car insurance one of the bigest questions is “How many years No Claims you have?”.
As it happens the maximum an insurer registers differs from insurer to insurer. So, for example one insurer only register 7 years maximum and therefore each year you renew with them after your 7 years it only shows as 7 years on your insurance document, despite the fact that you may have been with them, for example, 3 years more. So in effect you have built up 10 years NCD but your document will only register 7 years NCD.
This is a problem when you move insurance to some one more competitive as you need to show proof of your NCD. You will therefore need documentary evidence from your previous insurers of how much NCD you have built up with them.
Fortunately for me I have such a document from one of my previous insurers back in 2006 and now need to contact my current insurer asking them “How many years of NCD I have had since with them”.
I hope this proves useful to other money savers not wanting to get caught out by this and not loosing those valuable years of NCD that you have built up

I understand your post, but, insurers tend to be short memoried these days.
They don't give a flying F, (oh no not another yellow card :o), if you have 7 or 70 years ncb. Keep every bit of evideence you get and whenever leaving an insurer, get a statement of ncb entitlement at that point, ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Now that's what I thought until I went to Admiral where they have a drop down for NCD going up to 15 years. As you pick different NCD years from the list the quotes I got went down. This is what actually got me thinking about the proof of NCD I have!

Which is why I posted, keep the proof. ;)
