Pre-Ordering Help

I've never pre-ordered anything before so I need a bit of help

If I pre-ordered a Nintendo Wii from Play, would they let me know if I was gonna receive it straight away at launch, or if I was too late for the first batch?

Same goes for places like Amazon.co.uk when they start taking pre-orders.

I have pre ordered loads of stuff with play and I usually receive them on the friday morning before the monday release, again this is only DVDs I expect it would be different with a console.

I receive an email telling me that my order has been dispatched and they drop on the mat a few days later. I expect this will happen with your wii but you wont hear anything other than order confirmation and the shipping notification if they go by standard policy.
