House I'm renting may be sold. Question ?

I've renting a house for 6 weeks now but it is also up for sale but was told it had been on the market for months with no viwings. Had someone come round today to view it. Just wondering what the situation would be if it was sold. In the tenacy agreement it says "the landlord may bring the tenacy to an end at any time before the expiry of the term, but no earlier than six months from the commenment date." Anyone know if this means that they can't kick me out if was sold before my six months is up ?
Thanks
Paul
Thanks

Hi Paul,
your safe for 6 months from the date you moved. After that, the tenancy can be terminated early with notice. Check your contract again - I guess you would ned to be given at least 30 days. How long ago did you move in?Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
The agreement says 2 months notice needs to be given. moved in on the 29th july so only been here 6 weeks.0

you do not have to let prospective purchasers into the property even if it says you have to in our tenancy agreement0

Really, it does say that in the agreement. I was a bit peezed with the estate agent who said i whould have to show them round because they where closed.0

As you moved in on 29th July - you will be fine until 29th January, however he could serve notice on 29th November thus giving you 2 months notice and not ending the term before the 6 month period.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

That's terrible! Don't agree to this, you are not there to be an estate agent and show people around!! I can't believe this!0 -
Agreed - you DO NOT show people around. Cheeky sods.
Tell them they are more than welcome to show people around however will have to be accompanied by the agent!Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

I was once shown around a house for rent by the current tenant. He told me how he had to get environmental health involved before the landlord would make the house anywhere near fit for human habitation. Guess whether I rented the house or not.0
