So I spend ages sorting out stuff to sell on ebay to raise some funds for DD's birthday party.........and paypal is going to hold onto it unless I get positive feedback!
I can't post til Monday (they finished about half 8 this evening, some paid some not) so not a cat in hell's chance of positive til say Tuesday, if I ask buyers really nicely? Then how long to hit my account

Whatever you do, dont ask for feedback!
It tends to get peoples backs up & you may find they deliberately dont leave any or leave worse feedback because of it.
If no feedback is left after 21 days then Paypal will release the money, so that would be the worst case scenario.
I would send the items out as quickly as possible & then hope for the best, unfortunately everyone does not leave feedback immediately, or even at all, but I find that most do a day or 2 after receiving the items.0 -
This 21 day hold is fairly standard so all you can do is follow kpriggs advice get the items sent and hope that buyers leave feedback quickly. I also agree with kprigg, DON'T ask for feedback, ever, it may out buyers off leaving it altogether.
One thing though, if any of these items are going tracked, or if you can afford to upgrade them to tracked at your own cost then there is a little evidence that sometimes paypal will release the hold once you can show item has been delivered, however this is not guaranteed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. As soon as they leave feedback Paypal should release the money but you may need to ring or email Paypal to remind them! Then it can take anything from 2 - 7 days to hit your bank account! If you send it recorded you may get your money sooner as Paypal then release the funds 2 days after its been delivered. I do this as I find most people are very slow at leaving feedbackWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

Hi . I had this situation myself.
Although some posters are advising you Not to ask for the feedback , this is exactly what i did.
My buyer had paid via paypal and had added a note asking me would i up grade the postage to 1st class (item was listed to be delivered 2nd class) . When i saw this note and then realised that paypal were holding onto my money what i did was i emailed the buyer and explained the situation to him.
He ewanted his item in a hurry and i wanted my funds released so i emailed him and said " I will post the item 1st class if you agree to leave positive feedback the second you receive the package".
This is exactly what he did , but in saying that , maybe i had just found a "decent" buyer .
He left me feedback and within minutes my funds were released by paypal. There was no need for me to contact paypal , they automatically released the money0
