Help re. screen text sizes

Help please..just turned tv monitor on (pc usually always on and not been off) and the start up page with a pic of our cat! is huuge, the internet pages are huge and stretched but the top bar is even bigger? the bar that is usually across the bottom has moved to the side..help how do we chnage it back?
Have tried the page size and it is on 75% as is the only one we can see the screen..well most of it!

    cursor on the side bar till you see the arrrow sideways, drag and drop to the bottom usually works for me.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

    have you tried Ctrl and the minus key (-) or Ctrl and mouse scroll wheel?

    Its most probably your screen resolution. Right click on blank bit of desktop background.
    Go to properties.
    Go to settings.
    Set the resolution higher.

    The bar at the bottom, I assume you mean the one with the Start button? This is your taskbar. To move it, drag it down to the bottom.

    Thanks when we right click properties doesn't come up..we have vista does that make a difference? the task bar will not move being dragged other than to the left of the screen which is pointless..when we work on a page the bar is not visable and is annoying skipping pages all the time.

    Have tried the control and - thanks had made the text better to read but it is still not what i would call normal..

    Thanks well it's Vista..the screen has gone normal again after no one using it?!! the task bar ill have a play around with..if not my sister is over at the weekend and she is better at things like this than me!
