iphone 4 orange...

I think this thread is going completely off topic, and has turned into a barage of abuse. OP, to be clear, companies do not redline areas to make credit decisions. This used to happen, but hasn't for the past 25 years or so. I think what people are trying to say on here is that this sounds like an allegation which is heavily unsubstatiated. I could start off a similar thing tommorow saying that Santander for example do not lend to a particular postcode whatsoever, and whilst it may sound true, and I can probably make it sound true, it isn't.
With regards to the adviser saying they had 3 people who had been turned away by Orange, that sounds coincidental. The other thing, is that 3 offer cheaper contracts than Orange/O2 for example. So if people are declined, I would say they are likely to go to a 3 store to see if they can offer the iPhone. The reasons for declines on credit scoring are unlimited, it could be as simple as not being on the electoral roll, so I think I would suggest you take the advice as a pinch of salt.Best Regards

You would not have posted if you didn't believe what was being told to you. If you didn't believe you would have told the commission hungry sales person to shut up.
Instead you were gullible and believed it and then thought everyone on here would want to know, but everyone on here has just told you it's rubbish.

Can we all please reflect on the forum etiquette which states 'be nice to all MoneySavers'?

I think what the person from 3 said is rather nonsensical too. 3 have a rather inventive sales approach and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they said it to convince you to take out a contract with them. 3 are still the relative newcomer to the mobile phone market and do work hard to attract new customers from the more established networks.
Of course, if what 3 told you was true, the fact you were rejected by one network is bound to have an impact on whether you are accepted on another network (including 3). After all, it will show up on your credit record.0 -

One thing we all can agree on and some of us will have probably experienced is that Three are lax credit scorers compared with the other networks.
I have been flatly refused by Orange and Vodafone this year, O2 wanted a £100 deposit, but Three approved me for three contracts (one of which I cancelled straight away and the other is a SIM Zero I'm leaving open on £0 line rental).
It has nothing to do with the iPhone 4, postcodes, or anything else that the Three saleslady told the OP
Just Orange being prudent and sensible. I honestly think Three were reckless to approve me for even one contract let alone three given my recent bankruptcy and multiple prior defaults... Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Wow i had no idea! I was going to get a vodafone contract, or try to anyway, think i should perhaps go elsewhere?
They drew me in with the UK only call centers even though they and 02 offer similar phones and tarriffs. 3 seem slightly cheaper too...It has nothing to do with the iPhone 4, postcodes, or anything else that the Three saleslady told the OP

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal out of them (Apple do have some pretty strict measures upon discression so this is completely out of charachter for Orange to say something anything like this) so perhaps they may be a good mainstream phone contract scorer?0 -

she said orange are messing everyones credit rating up by denying nearly everyone that tries to open a new contract to get the iphone 4... she said theyre knocking back people living in certain areas. even if you got a good rating they wont let you get credit for the contract if you live in one of these certain areas....
she said i was the third person today(!) thats said they were turned away from orange...
that aint good...
Like all your other posts and as said by others this is a load of rubbish !
