Help! Black spots on Sweet Peppers!
Hi Folks
My Sweet/Bell peppers developed black in the stem joints.
With it been my first year i just ignored the black not knowing if it was normal, now the peppers have grown most of the peppers have black on them!
I looked up the problem in my book which talks about 'Blossom end Rot' but mine isn't just at the end it seems to be in patches from top to bottom of the peppers, could it be this? are they still edible? i still have some growing, how do i treat it ?can i do anything to prevent it furthur?
Thanks in advance!.
P.s On a good note picked some great Thai Chillis & Jalepenos today in my garden that seemed to have escaped the black!:D
Oh & harvested my tatties, there where loads we'll be having potatoes with everything for tea this week! ha!:rotfl:

Sorry Furny, I don't have an answer for you but will watch this thread with interest as some of my sweet peppers are the same as yours & I really hope that someone will be able to give some advice.0

This is my first time growing peppers too and I have the same issue, I *think* this might be what happens before they turn red??? I picked a couple of peppers off the plant like his but they were bitter and not very nice at all, so I left the others thinking nothing to lose and low n behold they are turning red!!! So maybe its what they are supposed to do???? But I am absolutely not an expert so hopefully someone with some pepper know how will be along soon with advice!!0

Ok judging by Lotus -Eaters thread from your Grow Your Own it's hopefully nothing to worry about.

I'll keep an eye on them & see if it is just part of the process before turning red as i'm not going to do anything with them with this colour so they might aswell stay on the plant & see what happens!
Thanks Folks!0
