found a few all inclusive holidays for 2 weeks in Alcudia, Majorca with good flights etc but with companies I've unheard of, such as jetline travel, ola, lowcost... prices seem too god to be true, what happens if i book with one of these companies and they go bust? am i covered if i book it on my credit card?
Any why they so cheap? (Going end Sept by the way)
Thanks in advance

How much would it cost for some really good travel insurance that would cover you in all cases of cancellation, going bust etc?
Do you have the money / credit / communications available to change accommodation if you find yourself in a rat infested hole and need to change hotels? Extra money will be needed if the food is lukewarm ecoli burgers every night too.
Have you looked up the hotel on tripadvisor?
Looking at HAys travel there are fortnights in Alcudia for just over £300 per person, so maybe your price isn't far off... question is, are you a gambler?
If you're willing to take a punt on it then the price is good just for flights, and if it is somewhere awful for accommodation you can always change once you get there!
If you can't afford the risk then pay a bit more to go through a bigger travel agent flying with recognisable names to named acocmmodation.
Good Luck!

Beware cheap insurance. I was stung when my cheap travel insurance did not pay up for volcanic ash disruption.
My Capital 1 credit card did refund my RyanAir flights.
I am currently looking for "value" annual travel insurance and best I found was Columbus Travel - Annual Executive."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Read my signatureThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

If the flights are available to book at the price advertised, and the hotel is, then no, its not too good to be true, its the price its available at! As long as the hotel reviews are ok (i.e. its not a hellhole!), and the flights include any luggage and such tnat you may need, then it should be fine.
Bare in mind that the companies you mention are not selling you a package holiday (in the sense that Thomson, First Choice, Thomas Cook etc would.) What they are actually doing is booking you some flights with an airline, and then booking you a hotel through an accommodation provider. Nothing wrong with this, as long as you understand you are not booking a traditional "package".
In fact, if you book the flights direct, and then book the hotel separately through the cheapest provider, then you may save a few quid more. And cances are, this will be the same as booking through the agents.0 -
Ryanair on the cheapest dates has flights for 14.99 going out, 27.99 coming back, flying from Stansted to Palma, so maybe your price isn't so far off after all... comes to £166 for 2 adults including baggage, so you just need to find a cheap hotel...
Half board in the More Hotel in Alcudia is about £430 for two of you for the fortnight for the cheapest Ryanair fortnight....
The price you have isn't so far off after all, is it?
I'd be looking at moneysupermarket.com for insurance, as there's a quick quide to level of cover on each policy that comes up, and of course it lists by ascending price.:)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Not as hot as July and August :rotfl: See here > http://www.iknow-majorca.co.uk/tourist_information/balearic_islands/temperatures_majorca.htm
You could get burnt anytime, even in the UK if you do not take appropriate precautions.:A"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
